ANÁLISIS DE LA PRODUCCIÓN CIENTÍFICA EN BALONMANO EN LAS REVISTAS DE LA WEB OF SCIENCE [Analysis of scientific production in handball in journals of web of science]

El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar las contribuciones científicas cuyo objeto de estudio era el balonmano publicadas en revistas indexadas en la Web of Science. La búsqueda se realizó durante el mes de mayo de 2014. Las variables analizadas fueron: a) Año de publicación; b) Área de investigación; c) Categorías de Web Science; d) Revista dónde se publica; e) Países de origen de los autores; y f) Instituciones a las que pertenece al autor. Se recogieron 366 artículos. La producción en balonmano ha ido creciendo anualmente. España es el país que más aportaciones realiza, sitúa a dos Universidades nacionales entre las más productivas y una revista de edición española está entre la que más artículos ha publicado. La orientación de las revistas que más publican está diversificada, existiendo publicaciones con un carácter médico y otras más específicas en deporte.

Abstract
The aim of this research was to analyze the scientific contributions whose subject of study was handball and which were published in journals index-linked in Web of Science. The search was conducted in May 2014. The variables analyzed were: a) year of publication; b) research area; c) Web Science categories; d) Journal in which it is published; e) authors' country of origin; and f) Institutions to which the authors belong. 366 articles were compiled. The handball research publication has been growing yearly. Spain is the country which contributes the most and two of their universities are among the most productive ones. A Spanish journal is among the ones which have published most of the articles. The standpoint of the journals which publish the most is diversified: there are journals that have a medical approach and others that are more sport-focused.
