VALORACIÓN DE LA IGUALDAD DE LOS PARTIDOS DE BALONMANO MASCULINO DE TOKIO 2020 SEGÚN LA RELACIÓN TIEMPO DE JUEGO Y RESULTADO [Assessment of the equality of men's handball matches at the Tokyo 2020 according to the relationship between result and playing time]

Resumen

Objetivos: Clasificar los partidos según su grado de igualdad en el resultado parcial a lo largo del tiempo de juego y analizar el comportamiento ofensivo de ganadores y perdedores para los grupos establecidos. Método: A partir de las estadísticas oficiales de la competición se obtuvieron un total de 4783 acciones de finalización en los 38 partidos del torneo masculino. Se realizó la agrupación de series temporales con el algoritmo “dynamic time warping”. Resultados: A partir del análisis de clúster todos los partidos se agruparon según cuatro tipos: muy equilibrados (n=8) 21%, equilibrados (n=12) 32%, poco equilibrados (n=16) 42% y desequilibrados (n=2) 5%. En los dos primeros tipos no se encontraron diferencias significativas en la eficacia del ataque entre ganadores y perdedores, al contrario de lo que sucedió en los partidos poco equilibrados (p<0,01). En los partidos poco equilibrados hubo diferencias en el número de goles entre ganadores y perdedores al principio del partido, 1’-5’ (p<0,01); mientras que en los partidos equilibrados fue entre el minuto 41’ y 50’ (p<0,05). Conclusiones: Se constató que pocos partidos presentaron resultados equilibrados durante todo el tiempo de juego y fueron muy escasas las variaciones en la diferencia en el marcador en los momentos finales.

Abstract
Aim: To discriminate the matches according to their equality level in match status and to analyze the offensive performance of winners and losers for the groups obtained. Method: From the official statistics of the competition, 4783 finishing actions were obtained in the 38 matches of the men's tournament. The clustering of time series was carried out with the “dynamic time warping” algorithm. Results: From the cluster analysis, four types of matches were considered: very balanced (n=8) 21%, balanced (n=12) 32%, poorly balanced (n=16) 42% and unbalanced (n=2) 5%. In the first two types, no significant differences were found in the effectiveness of the attack between winners and losers, contrary to what happened in poorly balanced matches (p<0.01). In poorly balanced matches, there were differences in the number of goals between winners and losers at the beginning of the match, 1'-5 '(p<0.01); while in balanced matches it was between minutes 41 'and 50' (p<0.05). Conclusions: It was found that few matches presented balanced results throughout the playing time and there were very few alternations on the scoreboard in the final moments.
